Rule of thirds and the golden ratio
As the LCD light on my digital point and shoot camera has died, a replacement LCD is over $100. I'm debating if I'm better off buying a new camera. In the interim, I've decided to see what the camera on my android smart phone can really do. I replaced the standard camera app with Camera Advance Lite. This app adds a lot more functionality than the default Android camera, including grid lines if you want to follow the rule of thirds, as well as the golden ratio spiral, to assist you with lining up your subject perfectly within the frame. These are both great steps if you're ready to move away from centering your subjects, and making your photos more interesting, as well as visually appealing.
