Replacing Google with DuckDuckGo
I wrote an article on PrivaSecTech last week about how Google is now filtering things the American movie and music industry want it to filter, and decided it's time to see what alternatives are out there. I came across a website called donttrack.us which explains some of the dangers of using Google in regards to your personal privacy. After reading it, I gave DuckDuckGo a try. Now there are risks, as I don't know the authors of DuckDuckGo, and they could be malicious, but then again so could any employee of Google, so I continued with researching it. The results from a search using DuckDuckGo are surprisingly fast and efficient. They've also added hooks into hundreds of websites directly using !bang calls for advanced users. Today I've officially replaced Google with DuckDuckGo as my default search engine, you might want to give it a try yourself!
