Regenerative wearables

I'm exploring how we might make a fabric or wearable item that is regenerative.
In the ideal, if it was left in a field, maybe it would grow. For example

• Is there a way to embed seeds into a fabric/garment that could withstand a wash and the sun but still biodegrade?
• Could we embed seeds into PLA to 3d print buttons?
• What about Mycelium based fabrics?
• What about integrating a fluorescent protein into something better than e.coli that the fabric could glow more over time?

Do you know of any such products, or do you have any ideas that I should explore?
